What is a Cremation Urn?

A cremation urn is a decorative container in which the cremated remains of a loved one are placed. After the cremation service has finished, the ashes will be provided to you in a Caskets if you haven’t purchased an urn beforehand. How Do I Get the Ashes Into the Urn?

If you have purchased your urn prior to the cremation, then your funeral director will take care of placing the ashes inside of the urn for you, you will need to take the urn to your funeral director and they will be happy to assist you.
If you have the ashes with you and want to transfer them yourself, most urns come with a large opening to make transferring as easy as possible. You will need a funnel to help. Alternatively, I know from experience, funeral directors will be happy to help do this for you if you aren't feeling comfortable doing so.

What Are Keepsake Urns?

Keepsake urns are smaller sized urns that are designed to hold just a proportion of the deceased ashes, these are usually purchased to be kept in the home or a place where the urn will be on display. Most people tend to scatter the remaining ashes at a place of significance or have them buried. A selection of our urns are available in either a full size or a keepsake size.

What Are Scatter Tubes?

Scattering tubes or scattering urns are another form of urn which are designed to make it easy to scatter the ashes of a loved one. These can come in a range of sizes, colours and styles, please see our Scatter Tubes for more information on our range. Much like our cremation urn range, your funeral director will be on hand to help fill the scattering tube if you wish to purchase one.

Your funeral director can help to arrange the storage of ashes until that time comes or alternatively you can purchase an urn to keep your loved one in until the times comes.
